just the second drawing alone is OK, the viewer could understand it. perhaps with a bit more colored liquid in the glass, so there is a clear relation.
The "oops, I pissed on myself" expression is perfect. I'll get the shirt.
agreed, the single image (wine still in glass as well as puddle) is all you need. i'd buy one!
funny, after all those times i've been on the pirates of the caribbean ride i never thought about the bottom half of that drinking skeleton in the ghost bar...
Hmmm. Maybe I'll think about simplifying it to just the one figure, then, if I make a shirt out of it. I think you guys are right. For the time being, it's new art for my upcoming picture book, and for the book I think I'll keep it as is. The skeleton (Catrina) guzzling a glass of wine or whatever is a staple of Day of the Dead imagery, and I wanted to do my own version of it there on the left-hand side. Arrolyn-usually I just sketch in pencil, though I used to enjoy a brush pen every now and then. This was rendered in ink and brush. The red ink came out of this great old bottle I found at a yard sale. I'm pretty sure it's ink.
I think that would make a real neat t-shirt, I'd wear it fairly often. Mostly to work at Books of Wonder where i suggest your books whenever my opinion is asked. -Danielle, Books of Wonder-Senior Staff Member

What if the skeleton lady is drinking the wine and standing in the puddle of wine at the same time?

(That's laugh out loud...really loud.)
Your humor never ceases to amuse me! You could have the first image on the front, and the second on the back...I would own one!
P.S. Adam, what do you sketch with? Is it a marker or brush pen?

hey adam thanks for the great response!
when are you coming back to visit us at books of wonder?
Yeah, I've got to say, what about absinthe vs. red wine? Green is moresuch a pleasant color to be puddling at a lady's foot.
