As a the hippest school librarian in the universe, I can tell you that Smekday is on my top ten best books of all time. My students love it, too, and we are giddy about the arrival of Cold Cereal.
No worries. We also love Mac's Brixton Brothers with your art work, the Frankenstein books, and your short story in Scieszka's Funny Business. It will be hard to top Smekday, but we have confidence!

I love your blog and your lack of posts. It makes me so excited to see a new one on my Reader dashboard...Happy New Year to you.
And to you!

"J. Lo" is still the best joke in children's literature lately. Maybe Jon Klassen's bear comes close.
But Cold Cereal is pretty darn funny too...
