Christina–it's on an old tabletop I found in the trash.
Percy's Momma–it's a painting. If you're wondering why I'm painting it, check out the original post: http://adamrex.blogspot.com/2009/02/voice-input-child-identicant.html
How cool to get to paint something just for gallery display where scanning for print is not an issue. (Time to break out those old 'out of gammut' colors...)
The tabletop is cool! What a great shape. Did you say the size?
I DO remember Small Wonder. I am a bit of a bad TV junkie...
I'm not sure I'm reading the painting right. Just now I finally went over to YouTube and watched the Small Wonder title sequence. I had been thinking that your painting had to do with the title sequence, but I didn't see anything like it in the version that I watched.
I recognize Ted Lawson reading the ticker tape. I'm sure the boy is Jamie Lawson. The robot on the couch seems to be a reference to Vickie the Robot. I take the frowny face icon as a comment on the state of the U.S. economy in 2009.
What about the enormous girl in the window? It makes the scene in the foreground look like a dollhouse, which makes the whole thing kind of surreal. The girl sort of looks like the actress who plays Vickie in the show, but I feel like I'm missing something about the relationship between the giant girl and the robot on the couch, since they both seem to be parts of the same character.
I would just accept it, but most of your work is literal, so this is throwing me.

It's a great painting, by the way. I like the tabletop and I enjoy seeing how you work.
Hey, Christina! It's about 24 inches in diameter.
Jason–The girl in the window is actually nosy neighbor Harriet. Otherwise, you're right about not interpreting this scene literally.
Gorgeous~~~ Adam
